in aller Munde. Das Pokerspiel ist moderner und angesagter denn je. Das beliebte bereits über 200 Jahre alte Glücksspiel erfreut
sich in jüngerer Vergangenheit einer zunehmenden Schar begeisterter Anhänger. Als bunter Mix verschiedener Kartenspiele aus
Europa und Asien entstand die Urform des klassischen amerikanischen Pokers um 1805 in New Orleans.

Die Karten bestehen heute immer häufiger aus Kunststoff. Bis vor einigen Jahrzehnten waren die meisten Karten aus Premium
Spielkarten-Karton, aber Kunststoff hat sich durchgesetzt. Das hat den Vorteil, dass die Spielkarten eine viel viel llängere Halt-
barkeit haben. Zudem behalten sie ihre Form viel länger, quellen an den Seiten nicht auf und knicken seltener. Dabei geht es nicht
nur um die Haltbarkeit, sondern auch im eventuelle Risiken beim Gebrauch. Beim Pokern geht es überwiegend um Geld und da um
teilweise sehr hohe Summe. Die Spieler versuchen die Karten zu Markieren und das ist bei Spielkarten aus Kunststoff sehr schwer
bis unmöglich. Zudem sind die Kunststoffkarten vor Verschmutzung viel resistenter.
